Ing. Marek Pokorný, Ph.D.
Graduated from Faculty of Civil Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague in 2005. Since 2007 he has worked as a senior lecturer at Department of Building Structures. During his PhD studies he spent 6 months on a research fellowship at Stord-Haugesund University College in Norway. In 2012 he finished his doctoral studies with PhD thesis "Plumbing shafts and their fire safety". Since 2013 has worked as a researcher at University Centre of Energy Efficient Buildings – fire laboratory. Line of work: fire safety of building, active and passive fire protection, fire engineering, mathematical fire modelling. Pedagogical activity: lectures, exercises and projects with students, supervision of bachelor´s and master´s thesis. Research activity: fire testing of surface products, building structures, single burning items etc. Consultation activity and co-operation with building practice; occasional designing work.
