The University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings, in cooperation with the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Klokner Institute of CTU, has started preparations for the international conference Central Europe towards Sustainable Building 2022 (Sustainable construction of buildings in Central Europe), which will take place from July 4 to 6, 2022 in Prague.
Central Europe towards Sustainable Building 2022 (CESB22) is part of a series of international conferences organized under the patronage of four international organizations: iiSBE, CIB, UNEP-SBCI and FIDIC. It will be held in Prague for the sixth time.
Topics will include innovative technologies and systems, new materials and components for sustainable buildings, energy-efficient buildings and neighborhoods, adapting the design, construction and operation of buildings to climate goals, integrating circular economy principles into the building design process, and decision support tools and assessment methods for sustainable built environment. Participants will also discuss retrofitting existing building stock, sustainable restoration of cultural and industrial heritage, improving the resilience of the built environment and sustainable urban development.
Previous CESB conferences, held in 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019, have become a traditional meeting place for experts focused on the issue of sustainable building construction. In 2019, we welcomed 243 participants from 43 countries. The importance of this international conference is also evidenced by the fact that the contributions of the previous five years are indexed in the SCOPUS and Web of Science databases.
