Erika Langerová on the Security of the Green Transition in O2 CyberCast

Aktualita, 13. 8. 2026

The rapid transformation of the energy sector brings new opportunities, but also security risks and questions concerning Europe’s technological sovereignty. Erika Langerová from CTU UCEEB discussed these issues in a new episode of the O2 CyberCast podcast.

Modern energy systems are increasingly interconnected with digital technologies, cloud services and artificial intelligence. However, this growing interconnection also creates new vulnerabilities and dependencies.
“The green transition cannot lead us to replace our dependence on Russian gas with technological dependence on China. Security must take precedence over the speed of technological transformation,” says Erika Langerová.
In the interview, she discusses security risks associated with the cloud systems used by solar inverter manufacturers, a possible scenario of a large-scale blackout, and the approaches taken by countries seeking greater technological sovereignty.
