First installation of our innovative ventilation units

News, 14. 6. 2024
Ventilation units developed in CTU UCEEB laboratories and manufactured by partner company RECUAIR were used in the renovation of an apartment building in Terrassa, Spain, as part of the international PLURAL project. They were chosen thanks to their unique patented technology of air temperature control by use of thermoelectric active heat exchanger, which guarantees their quiet and energy-saving operation.

The air handling units were installed as an integral part of the facade panels developed by DENVELOPS on the exterior side of the original wall in renovated apartment building. In total six units will be deployed, they will not only be able to supply fresh air, but also cool or heat the apartment as required. All this without compressor noise and without refrigerants, based solely on the patented solid-state technology using a combination of passive and active thermoelectric heat exchanger.

The device, which is protected by European patent, is designed to guarantee a sufficient supply of fresh air, the temperature of which can be adapted to the requirements of occupants. The building is equipped with a photovoltaic source, whose energy production perfectly matches the need for cooling in the summer season. As a result, the complex system of the building can behave energy-efficiently and use the instant renewable energy production to cover the cooling needs of the building.

The PLURAL project was funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 958218.
