The goal of this project is to develop, experimentally test, and prepare for production an innovative component for an energy-active green roof. The green roof with a heat exchanger will be designed for the regeneration of ground boreholes and the direct utilization of low-potential heat on the evaporator of a ground-water heat pump during the summer and transitional seasons; the technical solution will be protected by a utility model. Thanks to the ability to regenerate ground boreholes, the green roof acting as a heat exchanger can reduce investment costs for ground boreholes in residential construction by up to 30%. In installations where a ground-water heat pump is already in operation, the additional installation of a green roof with a heat exchanger can increase annual operational efficiency by up to 20%.
