In April 2026, Ing. Jan Špale, Ph.D., head of the INTENS team at the University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings CTU, presented at the conference Energy Management in Companies – Corporate Energy on the Path to Decarbonisation. The conference focused on efficient energy use in industry, energy management, financing of energy-saving projects, and innovations in corporate energy systems.

In his presentation, “High-temperature industrial heat pumps – do they pay off?”, he introduced the potential of these technologies in industrial applications, including their economic aspects, technological limitations, and practical examples from the Czech Republic and abroad. The presentation was primarily aimed at energy specialists from industrial companies, as well as representatives of the public and financial sectors. The discussion confirmed that electrification of process heat and the use of waste heat are highly relevant topics, particularly in the context of energy prices, decarbonisation, and long-term industrial resilience. The positive audience feedback also highlighted the importance of linking academic research with industry needs.
