Magdaléna Novotná is engaged in research in the field of high-performance concrete with a focus on optimizing the composition of the mixture with regard not only to the required mechanical properties but also to environmental efficiency. Currently, she is mainly concentrated on the topic of the effect of biochar – an environmental friendly admixture on the properties of high-performance concrete.
In 2007, she graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE) of the Czech Technical University in Prague, majoring in Civil Engineering, where she received her doctorate in 2014. Since 2007, she has been working in various research positions at CTU and has been associated with UCEEB since its beginnings. Since 2022, she has been an assistant professor at the Department of Building Structures FCE CTU.
