Erika Langerová, representative of the Czech Technical University in Prague – UCEEB, participated in the international
workshop National Security Considerations in Border Security Procurement, held on March 23–26, 2026, in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The event was organized by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Commercial Law Development Program
(CLDP) in cooperation with the Government of Lithuania.
The workshop focused on key aspects of security in public procurement related to critical infrastructure, particularly risks
associated with supply chains, technology selection, and the involvement of untrusted vendors. The program covered topics
such as European legislation, national security exemptions, evaluation of bids from a security perspective, and the role of
cybersecurity in procurement processes.
The workshop also included discussions on cyber resilience and the protection of critical infrastructure, where UCEEB contributed
its expertise in cybersecurity. Erika Langerová participated as a speaker in a panel discussion on cybersecurity considerations
in procurement processes, sharing insights and experience from the Czech context. In the final part of the workshop, she also
contributed to discussions on interagency cooperation and information sharing in the preparation and evaluation of public
procurement procedures, which are essential for ensuring security and transparency.
The workshop has initiated follow-up discussions with international partners on organizing similar events in the Czech Republic,
with potential involvement of UCEEB as a co-organizer. Participation in the workshop contributed to strengthening international
cooperation and the exchange of best practices in securing public procurement and enhancing the resilience of critical infrastructure.
