The main objective of the project is to establish a center that will ensure long-term professional capacity for socioeconomic research in the field of developing a resilient, SMART, and sustainable society. The interdisciplinary center will strengthen the professional competencies and knowledge of state and local government and create a research base for better implementation of the Smart City Concept (MMR, 2021) and further support the creation and implementation of cohesion policy, regional policy, spatial development, and tourism, which will be useful for the development of innovative solutions in the region. It will focus on research into the economic, environmental, social, and institutional aspects of the development of a SMART society. It will build a stable base for applied research by concentrating research capacities and focusing them on the practical application of research results.
