CTU in Prague, in cooperation with other partners, operates and develops the national tool for building quality certification
SBToolCZ. It has been used to evaluate two public building designs in the Karlovy Vary Region, both of which have been awarded
a bronze certificate.
The first one is S.O.S. 112, which is the abbreviation of the name of the new Joint Operations Centre of the Integrated Rescue
System in the Karlovy Vary Region. The design office INTAR a.s. worked on the project. Although it is an administrative building with
very specific operations, it was awarded 4.3 points in the evaluation. We appreciated the high user comfort, especially the
quality of the interior environment, the use of greenery in the exterior with biodiversity support and, last but not least,
the detailed processing of documentation in digital form (BIM).
The second project is the design for the construction of the Ceramics and Glass Secondary School of Arts and Crafts, which
sensitively preserves the existing historic building and complements it with a building with modern spaces for teaching, exhibitions,
relaxation and sports. The architectural study was prepared by the architectural studio Petr Hájek ARCHITEKTI, s. r. o. The project documentation was handled
by the design office Energy Benefit Centre a.s., which processed it in detail in digital form and placed great emphasis on the user comfort of students
and employees of the high school. This design was awarded a bronze certificate with 5.8 points. Congratulations to the authors
of both projects!
