The Repower Industries project objective is to promote the energy independence of industries, especially in strategic sectors, assuring the energy self-sufficiency of factories and tertiary buildings, providing them with energy availability at any time and at an affordable price.

  • The project intends to mainly identify most suitable practices and policies to promote this independence and security in energy sources.

By promoting energy efficiency, renewable energy, developing smart energy systems, grids and storage and promoting the transition to a circular and resource efficient economy the project Repower Industries contributes to other EU policies and strategies, such as:

  • The European Green Deal, especially the Green Deal Industrial Plan which enhances the competitiveness of Europe's net-zero industry and is accelerating the transition to climate neutrality.
  • The RepowerEU Plan, which is the European Commission’s plan to end the dependency on Russian fossil fuel imports.
  • Others not covered by the Green Deal, such as Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), Emissions Trading System (ETS), Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), Internal Market for Electricity and Gas.

The Repower Industries project is funded by the Interreg Europe Program, co-funded by the ERDF and will start on 1st of April 2024 and will end on 30th of June 2028, with consortium composed by 9 partners from Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, Lithuania, Ireland and Slovenia under the lead of Czech Technical University in Prague.
