We contribute to battery energy storage systems cybersecurity risk assessment

News, 29. 5. 2026
Colleagues from Security of Strategic Infrastructure team is currently involved in preparing several risk analyses focused on battery energy storage systems, particularly in relation to critical infrastructure. The main objective of these analyses is to identify and assess security risks associated with the supply chain and to define appropriate measures to prevent high-risk or potentially unsafe suppliers from becoming involved in key systems.

The analyses are based on national and European requirements in the field of cybersecurity and technical security and reflect current recommendations issued by relevant regulatory authorities. Particular emphasis is placed on systematic risk assessment, proper documentation, and the selection of proportionate security measures. In practice, this type of risk analysis represents a key supporting document for contracting authorities, especially in the context of public procurement. It may be essential for justifying specific security requirements before supervisory bodies, including the Office for the Protection of Competition.

Through this work, UCEEB continues to strengthen its role as an expert institution in the field of critical infrastructure security and risk management, combining technical expertise with regulatory requirements.
