Tereza Pavlů is the head of the composite structures research team. In 2010, she received her engineering degree in Buildings and Environment from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague. In 2015 she defended her dissertation on the use of recycled aggregates in concrete. The thesis focused not only on materials research, but also had an overlap into the applicability of concretes with recycled aggregates in buildings and the evaluation of the related environmental impacts. Since 2013 she has been doing this research at CTU UCEEB. At the same time, she works at the Department of Civil Engineering Structures, Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTU in Prague, where she is an associate professor since June 2023 with a habilitation thesis on recycled materials in building structures. Together with her team, she is trying to introduce the principles of circular economy in building construction and to find ways to use primary resources efficiently. She works with several companies involved in the environmentally friendly demolition and recycling of buildings and the subsequent use of the recovered materials and structural elements.
