The use of advanced energy sources and systems in buildings also brings with it increasing demands for the correct
computational evaluation of their benefits to reduce energy consumption as part of the economic analysis at the project stage
or for official energy assessment (energy certificate requirements of the building). Especially renewable energy sources,
whose performance is significantly variable during the year and depends on both climatic conditions and the operating conditions
of the building, require a specific approach to energy assessment. Simplistic standard approaches can lead to very
misleading calculations of energy indicators, and thus to poorly evaluated operating costs and erroneous decisions
on the part of technology investors. The seminar will show in more detail the issue of evaluating energy systems with solar
thermal collectors, heat pumps and photovoltaic systems using specific examples. It will also present computational
tools and methods that bring computational evaluation of energy systems to the level of real results.
