Increasing the safety of traction batteries for transport

The project aims at increased operational safety in traction batteries for public transport and heavy-duty vehicles. In particular, we are developing a battery set with an early failure warning system and a liquid cooling system with a self-extinguishing function. Another project's goal lies in an increased design effectivity of the traction batteries. By employing extensive numerical analysis, the project aims at lowering the number of failed mechanical integrity tests in the homologation process. The safety of the homologation process by the testing authority is also considered and enhanced.
