Jan Včelák received his Ph.D. in 2007 at CTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Since then, he worked as a postdoc researcher and team leader in Tyndall NI, Republic of Ireland in the period 2007-2012. Since 2012, he has been employed at CTU – University Center for Energy-Efficient Buildings, where he built and in 2015-2019 led a monitoring and management group for intelligent buildings, in 2019 he worked as a visiting researcher at the InnoRenew CoE institute, Slovenia, focusing on renewable construction materials. He is the co-founder of two companies and the author of several American and European patents. His knowledge and experience are mainly in the field of designing electrotechnical and sensor systems for special applications. Among his tasks at CTU are primarily the coordination of research and development activities and project management. He is the main investigator of several research projects on the use of IoT sensors and renewable energy in buildings.
