Jan Včelák, Ing. Ph.D. is a senior researcher in CTU- University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings, department for monitoring and intelligent control of buildings (Czech Republic). In paralell he is working at InnoRenew CoE (Slovenia) as a researcher in the field of sensors and building monitoring. He is a co-founder of MoistureGuard and InoSens CZ companies where he leads R&D activities. His expertise is connected with sensor design for special purposes, and complex sensor systems including data processing algorithms. His activities cover also topic of sustainable building constrcution materials and sensor system for their diagnostics and monitoring covering fibre optic sensors, timber construction monitoring systems and structural health monitoring. As a postdoc researcher, he was a member of microsystems group in Tyndall NI (Cork, Ireland). His tasks are mainly in coordination of R&D activities and supervising research projects as a principal investigator or coordinator mainly in electronics design, renewable energy sources, energy storage and sustainable built environment. He is author of several impacted publications, books, patents and utility models in US, EPO and CZ.
