Matěj Lexa graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague, specializing in Buildings and Environment with a focus on building physics. During his studies, he developed an interest in buildings as integrated systems, energy concepts, and the relationship between technical design and environmental impact. His master's thesis focused on analyzing the carbon footprint of various building typologies and proposing recommendations for its reduction.
Since 2025, he has been a member of the Sustainable Construction team at CTU UCEEB. His work focuses on building life-cycle assessment, building certification, and environmental data analysis. He participates in building assessments using the national SBToolCZ methodology and in the development of a local generic database of construction materials. He is particularly interested in holistic building assessment, comparing design alternatives, and identifying solutions that result in buildings that are both technically high-quality and environmentally friendly.
