In 1986, Vladimír Šulc graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague, majoring in compressors and refrigeration equipment. In the same year, he joined the Research Institute of Food and Refrigeration Technology, dept. compressors. After the research institute was incorporated into Thermo King, he worked from 1993 to 2019 at the company's headquarters in Minnesota, USA, most of the time in the compressor department. In 2009, he received his doctorate at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
