Vojtěch Zavřel is a researcher with extensive experience in national and international research projects and an expert in numerical modelling and dynamic simulation of buildings and related energy systems, including local renewable energy sources, heating, hot water, air conditioning, cooling and indoor environment. His current research focuses on the integration of building energy systems into the broader energy infrastructure, with an emphasis on smart building management and the design of new market mechanisms that stimulate community energy solutions and efficient interaction between buildings and the energy grid.

He received his Master's degree in Intelligent Buildings from the Czech Technical University in Prague in 2013. Subsequently, he worked for four years at Eindhoven University of Technology, where he received his PhD in 2018 within the Computational Building Performance Simulation research group. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and also the head of the Modern Energy Research Team at the University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings at the Czech Technical University in Prague.
