Together with the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, we are preparing the international conference Structural Health Assessment of Timber Structures 2022 (SHATIS), which will take place from September 7 to 9, 2022 in Prague.
The conference is focused on assessing the condition of wooden structures, which includes several procedures for assessing their safety and operability. In addition, these practices help ensure or extend their expected lifespan. The life of wooden structures can be increased by incorporating monitoring systems or by using tools and methods that inform about the condition of the structure.
The protection and evaluation of wooden structures is based on a multidisciplinary approach. The conference covers a wide range of current topics from the properties of wood to the technology of making connections and the wooden structure itself to current monitoring and digital technologies.
