The project is a follow-up to the EERA_CZ project, within which the Czech Umbrella Organization was created with the aim of joining the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) and thus joining the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe consortia that are emerging in this community. Participation in joint programs (JPs - Joint Programs) of EERA are and will continue to influence the priorities of European research in energy, as well as the shape of the challenges of the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs. The project will thus enable the participation of Czech research institutions that joined the EERA JPs as part of the previous project, with the aim of being part of the coordination of European research and the possibility of increasing the participation of this umbrella organization in international research and development programs as well as in bilateral and multilateral activities.

In the areas of expertise, the project will focus on advanced materials for energy production, intelligent energy use and energy storage technologies.

One of the goals will be the creation of projects for the Horizon 2020 programs (and other international programs), both in the position of partner and in the position of coordinator. Participation in joint EERA programs will influence the priorities of European energy research and also the shape of the challenges of programs such as Horizon 2020 and its successor Horizon Europe.

By transferring knowledge, the research community will be informed about the benefits of EERA membership. At the same time, it will enable the state administration to be informed about the involvement of the Czech research community both in the EERA and subsequently in the projects of the Horizon 2020 program. Through its link to the centres built from structural funds, the project will have an effect on their connection to the European research community, and therefore subsequently their sufficient funding and the excellence of the research conducted in them.

Established contacts resulting from activities within JPs, increased awareness of European research priorities in the field of energy, easy access to information from the international space through the established network of coordinators and reduction of entrance fees thanks to the support of the umbrella organization are essential and systematic steps to reduce barriers to the entry of Czech institutions to European/international programs and international cooperation as such.

Support was provided for the solution of the Project within the framework of the INTER-EXCELLENCE program of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the INTER-INFORM subprogramme.
