The University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings (UCEEB) at the Czech Technical University in Prague continues to actively
contribute to international energy research through its long-standing engagement in multiple Annexes of the IEA's Energy in
Buildings and Communities Programme (IEA-EBC).
Recently, UCEEB presented its ongoing work at the IEA Technology Collaboration Programme (TCP) Days, hosted by the Ministry
of Industry and Trade in Prague. The event welcomed numerous Czech industry stakeholders and was honored by the presence of
IEA’s top leadership, including Chief Energy Technology Officer Dr. Timur Gül. During the event, we highlighted national
contributions to energy innovation. Following this presentation, our colleague Vojtěch Zavřel was invited to represent the
Czech Republic in the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the IEA-EBC.
Looking ahead, UCEEB remains actively engaged in shaping the future of sustainable, grid-interactive buildings. Our colleagues
from the Modern Energy research team are taking on a leadership role in the newly launched Annex 96 – Grid Integrated Control of Buildings, leading
the industry roadmapping activity. The aim is to collect successful implementations worldwide and identify key enablers to
support industry transformation and the achievement of net-zero carbon goals in the built environment.
