The aim of the project is research and development of modern protection of electrical circuits. This ensures the prevention of damages, losses and a number of potentially fatal accidents. Modern short circuit protection systems (circuit breakers) prevent electrical faults such as overloads, short circuits and earth faults. However, there is another type of electrical fault, an arc fault that cannot be detected by conventional protection systems. It is visible as a spark arc between the conductors. The new type of circuit breaker, which is the output of this project, combines 3 types of protection: a circuit breaker (MCB), a residual current device (RCD) and protection against a fault accompanied by the formation of an arc by a fault arc (AFDD). So this is a new generation electrical protection device.
