Quality and sustainable public construction: functional specification, decision-making and communication in construction projects

The main goal of the project is the creation of a manual that describes the process of the preparatory phase of a construction project with an emphasis on participatory design, interdisciplinary cooperation and building sustainability. The book will be complemented by an information website offering, in addition to an electronic document, also samples of procurement documentation, a library of methods including templates for their use and examples of good practice. The manual and other outputs will result from a background study focused on the needs and problems of cities and an evaluation of available methods and implemented projects. The procedure will be verified in two municipalities, for which a functional building specification will be created. The outputs of the project will offer municipalities a comprehensive knowledge base for commissioning high-quality construction projects and will support the cooperation of interdisciplinary teams in the preparation of projects of sustainable public buildings.
