The building of the University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings of CTU was presented in the eighth year of the Green Roof competition, in which it received honorable mention for research for the company Metrostav.
The expert jury evaluated a total of sixteen buildings entered in the competition. CTU UCEEB received an honorable mention for the experimental roof, which consists of 24 test areas completed in 2018. On them, in cooperation with the company Metrostav, long-term testing of various types of vegetation roofs is taking place with the aim of assessing their compositions with regard to the reliability of function, requirements for maintenance and other features. The knowledge gained contributes to the energy-efficient cooling of buildings and their surroundings during hot days.
