Fire safety in the development of structures and materials

Service offer
We support the development of structures and materials for fire safety in buildings, offering a wide range of testing methods and other services. The behaviour of materials can be tested both in an enclosed space simulating a smaller room and in an open space that is not affected by radiant heat return.

Our services include:
We provide simulations of the behaviour of materials and structures in fire. These simulations allow us to predict and optimize the response of materials and structures to fire loads.

We organise standardised and atypical medium-scale and large-scale tests to analyse and evaluate in detail the properties and behaviour of structures and materials under various conditions before the usually more costly certification tests are carried out in accredited laboratories, which include preliminary, pre-certification, indicative and development tests. Standard tests include the Room Corner Test according to ČNS EN 14390 or the medium-dimensional test for the reaction to fire of facades according to ČNS ISO 13785-1. For atypical (non-standardized) tests, the MiniFUR medium-dimensional furnace, developed by us, is most often used. If it is not possible to test in the laboratory, we can perform large-scale tests on an experimental area.

As the fire laboratory at UCEEB is not accredited, we offer certification mediation. We can provide access to accredited fire laboratories for official testing and certification of your products. Test results can be used in mathematical modelling of fire dynamics in a space, which is crucial for the design of safety measures and fire prevention.
