We are finalizing the methodology for planning public spaces

News, 29/10/2020

The CTU University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings is preparing a simple procedure for representatives of small municipalities, which will enable them to plan the shape of the open space with regard to the needs of residents and current technological possibilities. Work on the methodology is coming to an end, and the project will move to the stage of publishing and promoting the results through seminars and workshops before the end of this year.

Laboratoř udržitelné výstavby ČVUT UCEEB completes the certified Methodology for planning public spaces of small municipalities, which their representatives have to carry out through the process of preparing and commissioning territorial or urban planning studies of public spaces. The goal is not to turn municipal representatives into experts in spatial planning and participatory design, but to make them equal partners for experts who have a vision, know how to weigh the basic advantages and disadvantages of proposed solutions and make informed decisions.

We will present the methodology on December 1, 2020 at online semináři MĚSTO a DEVELOPER - společné výzvy a příležitosti, after which there will be a panel discussion with guests from various fields of expertise. In 2021, we plan to organize workshops for representatives of municipalities.

The research was supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic as part of the ÉTA program. The application guarantor is the Central Bohemian Innovation Center.
