At UCEEB, we use the 3D printing technology called Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM), which creates one layer after another by heating thermoplastic material. This technology is used in our 3D printing centre for rapid prototyping Stratasys Fortus 400mc.
UCEEB uses the printer mostly for research projects. In the Laboratory of Electronic Systems, 3D printing is used for pilot realisation of sensor boxes or devices for other technological processes.
We use the following materials for 3D printing: ABS (ACRYLONITRILE BUTADIENE STYRENE), PC (POLYCARBONATE), ULTEM, PC ISO. Modelling space dimensions are 406 x 355 x 406 mm.
3D printing production centre serves not only for the Department of Monitoring, Diagnostics and Intelligent Control of Buildings, but also for the other departments and external partners interested in 3D model printing.
