Lighting in higher education classrooms


The use of natural light in educational spaces contributes to improve student’s performance from different perspectives such as health and comfort, it also favors the decrease of energy consumption and provides with the most suitable light for human vision; however, it requires careful planning in its design.

This talk aims to present how two higher education classrooms in different geographical locations (Mexico City and Prague) are examined to recognize in what extent daylighting and artificial light conditions are appropriate to users.
